Harold L. Stewart II began his duties as Minot City Manager on Dec. 28, 2020. He was chosen from a pool of 50 applicants after a national search. The Minot City Council interviewed three finalists, and unanimously chose Harold as the top candidate.
As the City Manager, Harold serves as a link between the City Council, City staff, and members of the community, as well as working with multiple local, state, and federal agencies. The City Manager also plays a key role in crafting the annual City budget, and is vital to maintaining a strong relationship with lawmakers and other government officials on the local, state, and federal levels.
Before coming to Minot, Harold was most recently the city manager in Warrensburg, Mo., for more than five years where he was instrumental in recruiting several businesses to Warrensburg, including a Dollar Tree distribution center that employs more than 500 people. Warrensburg is the home of Whiteman AFB and the University of Central Missouri. He was also city manager in Knoxville, Iowa, for more than four years, and city manager in Ogallala, Neb., for three years.
Harold earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Master of Public Administration Degree from the University of Kansas.
Harold and his wife, Andrea, have six children. In his spare time Harold enjoys cooking, reading, playing board games, playing basketball, and the great outdoors.
