The City of Minot has complied with a recent ruling by Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem that it must provide notes from interviews conducted in relation to the termination of former City Manager Tom Barry.
The City received a request in October 2020 for recordings, transcripts and notes from any interviews conducted by the Center for Mediation and Consultation with Barry and Mayor Shaun Sipma during an investigation of hostile work environment allegations against Barry.
The City responded to the request by saying that no transcripts or recordings of the interviews conducted by Patricia Monson existed, and declined to provide notes, claiming they were exempt as attorney work product.
After reviewing the complaint against the City, the Attorney General’s office directed the City to review the notes, redact any information protected by statute, and release the remaining notes within seven days.
The information has been provided to fulfill the original request as well as any additional record requests that were made regarding the same event. All records are available on the City of Minot records website.
