A propane transport truck veered off the Highway 83 West Bypass and struck the southwest side of the Hyatt House before coming to rest on its side. The truck suffered significant damage, but the propane tank stayed intact and no propane leaked from the unit. The driver of the truck was transported to Trinity Hospital.
The Hyatt House suffered major damage to the southwest corner of the building. Fire Department crews stabilized the damaged corner of the building and used construction materials to enclose the hole created by the truck.
