Construction work is scheduled to begin Monday, May 18, on a project in southwest Minot to address ongoing storm water drainage issues in areas around 10th Street SW and 31st Avenue SW, just southeast of Dakota Square Mall.
Assistant City Engineer Emily Huettl said the project contractor, Wagner Construction, will begin asphalt milling on May 18. The asphalt work will create times when construction equipment will restrict vehicle traffic.
“There will be equipment working in various areas, but crews on site will allow drivers to pass through the construction zone when equipment isn’t blocking the street,” Huettl said. “We ask that you share the road with the equipment and be aware of your surroundings as there could be crews working close to traffic.”
Also on May 18, crews will begin installing new storm sewer pipe in 7th Street SW, south of 31st Avenue SW, which will include road closures and detours and will limit access to some properties. After Memorial Day weekend, crews are scheduled to begin installing new storm sewer pipe in 10th Street SW, north of 31st Avenue SW. Motorists should watch for detours and alternative access points for business in the area. The four-phase project is expected to be completed by Nov. 1, 2020.
