Crews to begin street sweeping in residential areas

Crews from the City of Minot have begun the annual task of cleaning dirt and other debris that accumulated on city streets during the winter months, and will start sweeping residential areas next week.

The crews spent recent weeks sweeping major roadways such as Burdick Expressway and Broadway, as well as islands, medians, snow routes and underpasses.

Starting Monday, April 20, crews will begin sweeping residential areas, using Broadway and Burdick Expressway as dividing lines. Within the four quadrants, crews will be working in different areas. Residents are encouraged to restrict on-street vehicle parking when sweepers are scheduled to be in their area. Sanitation carts should be placed on driveways or on the berm next to the curb while sweepers are working in residential areas.

A map containing the various zones can be found at Daily updates will be posted on that site to identify where sweepers will be working.
Street sweeping schedule for 2020:

  • April 20 - May 1: Southeast quadrant
  • May 4 – May 15: Northeast quadrant
  • May 18 - May 29: Northwest quadrant
  • June 1 - June 12: Southwest quadrant

Residents are advised that if crews finish cleaning a quadrant sooner than expected, they will move into the next quadrant ahead of schedule. Other Street Department crews will be working to fix any damage to yards or mailboxes, blading alleys, and filling potholes.
