The City of Minot’s third annual State of the City is scheduled for Feb. 6, 2020.
The event, with the theme of “One voice. One mission. One Minot,” will highlight and discuss Minot’s future vision. It will be held at the Arvel Graving Theater at Magic City Campus.
“The State of the City is an opportunity to share the City’s vision for the next year with the community,” said Minot Mayor Shaun Sipma. “It’s important for residents of Minot to have the opportunity to visit with City staff and elected officials, and that’s always a focus of this event.”
City of Minot department heads and City staff will be looking to engage with the Minot community with a traveling City Hall to begin the evening, highlighting the work they do each day, answering questions, and getting to better understand the citizens, in addition to providing information about City projects.
The tentative schedule for the event:
4:45 p.m.: Traveling City Hall, featuring informational booths from City departments.
5:45 p.m.: Program begins with color guard and national anthem. City Manager Tom Barry will make introductions, followed by a speech from Sipma.
6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.: Social hour featuring hors d'oeuvres from local area restaurants.
“We encourage the community to join us at this growing event,” Barry said. “If you have questions about the City of Minot government, or want to share in the discussion of how Minot is moving forward, this is an opportunity to have your questions answered. We hope you’ll join us on Feb. 6.”
All events are open to the public; no RSVP is required to attend. The public is asked to use the main doors to enter the building.
