Northwest Area Water Supply

The Northwest Area Water Supply Project (NAWS) is a regional water distribution project for our area of the state. As proposed, the project will serve the communities of Minot, Bottineau, Mohall, Berthold, Westhope, Sherwood, Souris, Columbus, Noonan, Kenmare, and Bowbells, as well as the All Season's Water Users, Upper Souris Water Users, and North Prairie Rural Water Association. The combined population served by the project is about 63,000 people and when future rural water development is taken into account the potential population served is about 81,000.
WHY MINOT NEEDS NAWS!
A high quality, stable source of water is critical for the continued growth and development of Minot and the surrounding area.
