The City of Minot, North Dakota is requesting sealed bids for structures, to include homes, for sale that were purchased by the City within the footprint of the flood control project.

Structures will be sold “as is” with no guarantee or warranty to their condition or soundness.  Lead-based paint hazard information shall be provided if identified on structure via ** below.

Each bid must include a five (5) percent bidders bond in a separate envelope attached to the bid envelope.  Acceptable will be cashier checks, bidder bond, or cash.  Any outstanding balance must be paid within fifteen (15) days of highest bid award.

All structures to be moved require a ten-thousand dollar ($10,000) performance bond posted with the City within ten (10) days of award of being the highest bidder. 

Land is not included as part of this auction.  Structures must be removed and relocated outside of the 2011 flood inundation area at winning bidder’s expense.  Winning bidder must provide destination address, obtain any necessary moving permits and coordinate removal plan through City of Minot property maintenance within 30 days of bid opening.  Debris and/or damage created by structure removal shall be the winning bidder’s responsibility.  Structures must be removed from city lots within 150 days of bid award.  Exceptions require City approval.  The City reserves the right to demolish structures left in place beyond the deadline.  Demolition of basement/slab is City responsibility.

All structures moved must follow jurisdictional ordinances and zoning codes in place at the permanent location of the structure.  Structures remaining in the City of Minot’s jurisdictional boundaries require a certificate of occupancy be issued within six months of bid.

The following is a list of structures available to the highest bidder.  Detached garages and sheds are considered separate items that require an independent bid from the home structure.  There will be a minimum bid requirement on each structure representing 30% of the most recent city assessed value, with no minimum bid on sheds/garages.

All listed structures will be available to view on Tue, Jan 9th, 2018 from 10:00 AM to noon.  There will only be one viewing opportunity.

All envelopes must be sealed, and the face of the envelope shall be clearly marked “City Property for Sale” with the address of the structure being bid on.  Any bidder may bid on more than one structure, however only one bid may be submitted per envelope and a performance bond is required for each structure.  All bids must be submitted as follows:

Bids will be opened on Mon, Jan 15th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall (515 2nd Ave SW, Minot, North Dakota).  Any bids received after the deadline will be returned unopened.

The City of Minot reserves, to itself, the right to reject any or all bids.
