City of Minot begins process to terminate lease with N.D. Port Services

The Minot City Council voted unanimously Tuesday, March 27, after meeting in executive session to begin steps to terminate a lease agreement with North Dakota Port Services, Inc., for non-payment of rent and property taxes.

The action taken Tuesday by the Council serves as a 30-day notice of intent to terminate the lease agreement.

North Dakota Port Services has leased property from the City beginning in 2009, but has not made required lease payments and property tax payments in 2016, 2017, and the first three months of 2018. Port Services owes the City approximately $223,000 in unpaid rent and taxes.
