Dog reunited with family

On Friday, December 22, 2017 at about 12:00 PM (noon) Animal Control Officer Tanya Mendelsohn will reunite a dog recovered in Minot, to the owner who lives in Williston, ND. This will take place at Minot PD. So here’s the story behind the story.
ACO Mendelsohn was called to remove some abandoned animals from a residence in Minot. It was obvious that the residence were involved in drug use, the house was trashed and the animals were left abandoned for an unknown amount of time in the residence. The level of neglect was so severe that she wouldn’t stand up on her own. She was taken to the pound and treated for a variety of issues stemming from the neglect. ACO Mendelsohn took the dog to the pound and scanned her for a microchip. Thankfully, she was “chipped” and the registered owners were contacted and they informed ACO Mendelsohn that she had been stolen 4 years earlier. This is a great success story for the microchipping of pets and just in time to be reunited and celebrate Christmas with her family!
