To oversee and enforce the provisions of the personnel code (Chapter 24 of the City of Minot Code of Ordinances). Provides advice and counsel on matters pertaining to personnel management, at the request of the City Council. All rules and regulations recommended by the human resource director must be ratified by the commission before they have any force and effect. Appointment, Membership, Term
Members are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council, for terms of five years and until a successor is appointed, qualifies and agrees to serve. A term commences to run on the date when the Council confirms the appointment. For good cause, and after prior notice and an opportunity to be heard, a member may be removed from office by three-fourths vote of the members of the City Council.
